CFA 5818 - A Victorian Rosewood Sewing Chess Table
A quality Victorian period rosewood octagonal work table. The top with inlaid satinwood and rosewood chequer board outlined in boxwood stringing. Carved scalloped decoration and eight dropped finials around the top edge. Inside is lined with floral paper and a well fitted interior of small compartments for sewing implements, four of which are lidded. The larger central well for wools, lace, etc is also lidded. The whole stands on a hexagonal tapering section with turned column on three carved cabriole legs.

A really pretty piece in excellent condition with lovely shine and patina. It has clearly been well looked after over the years and is ready to grace its new setting. Ideal for a seamstress to keep all their sewing paraphernalia.
