An attractive late Victorian/Edwardian burr walnut sewing table with serpentine shaped top/lid inlaid to the centre with multi-woods of a floral design. There is boxwood stringing to the top and cross-banding. The lid lifts to reveal an unlined rectangular storage space. There is a pretty cast escutcheon to the front. The whole stands on slender, tapering cabriole legs with cast acanthus leaf design to the knees and feet.
A really pretty piece in excellent condition with lovely shine and patina. It has clearly been well looked after and is ready to grace its new setting. Ideal for a seamstress to keep all their sewing paraphernalia or could be used as a jewellery box etc.
