A chaise longue translated in French means long chair. It is an upholstered sofa in the shape of a chair which is long enough to support the legs. A chaise has a back and armrest and were used to sleep on one side as opposed to lying flat a relaxing piece of furniture

A quality mahogany chaise longue with shaped and curved deep buttoned back having carved floral detail to the mahogany frame to one end. With carved detail to the centre, the swept arms boldly carved and pierced and with a serpentine front seat rail. The whole raised on well carved cabriole supports, upholstered in a red wine coloured velvet draylon material.

Both the upholstery and frame are in good condition and the piece is ready to grace its new setting, living room, bedroom etc.
