An early 19th Century mahogany cased painted arched dial 30 hour striking longcase clock by Hunt, Oxford.
The 12" arch dial has strawberry and other fruit spandrels, a central rose design over a date aperture revealing a working date wheel and rolling moon 29 and a half day lunar wheel above stylised worlds with black painted Roman numerals. The neat mahogany case has a swan neck hood with turned mahogany roundels over a pair of turned pillars, above a trunk with quarter round pillasters, either side a flat top trunk door with brass escutcheon, working lock and key, over a square base with shaped bracket plinth.
*It is uncommon to find a rolling moon mechanism on a 30 hour longcase clock*
