An early 19th Century mahogany painted arched dial, striking, longcase clock of 30 hour duration by W.Underhill Newport (William Underhill, Shropshire 1782-1836).

The 12" arch dial has greek key decorated corner spandrels, a central image of a sailing ship, black Arabic numbers, a gilt sunburst in the arch and a working date wheel visible through the arched aperture. The neat and attractive mahogany case has a hood with decorative flame arched pediment above a pair of turned and fluted pillars either side a hood door with brass knob, above a trunk with wide fluted quarter collumn pillasters with brass capitals and bases, beside the satinwood inlaid square arched top cross-banded door, with diamond shaped escutcheon and working lock and key, over a square inlaid base with supporting shaped bracket plinth.
