CFA 6271 - 30 Hour Longcase Vaughan (Pontpool)

A small early cottage style oak cased brass dial 30 hour striking longcase clock by Charles Vaughan, Pontpool (Pontypool 1730-1780).

The 11" square brass dial has cast corner spandrels and a silvered Roman numeral chapter ring around an egraved centre with the makers name. The delightful oak case has a square flat top hood over turned pillars enclosing a glass door with brass knob, above a canted corner trunk, with short door and shield shaped ivory escutcheon, above a fluted edge base on a shaped bracket plinth.
