CFA 6273 - 8 Day Longcase Fishwick (Boughton)
A good late 18th Century/early 19th Century oak and mahogany brass dial striking 8 day longcase clock by Fishwick, Boughton.
The 12" square brass dial has cast corner spandrels, silvered chapter ring around an engraved centre chamfered date aperture revealing a silvered working date wheel and a pair of winding holes below a silvered seconds ring and pointer. The swan neck hood has brass roundels, a pair of turned and fluted mahogany pillars with brass capitals and bases, enclosing a mahohany door with brass knob and original glass. The boxwood and ebony strung mahogany case has quarter turned and fluted pillasters, either side a central door with wavy top, floral inlay and working lock and key. The square mahogany cross-banded base stands on a shaped bracket foot plinth.
