A sweet little, mid 1700's, oak cottage style single hand brass dial, striking chain wind longcase clock of 30 hour duration, by John Glazebrook, Mansfied (Circa 1780).
The square brass dial has fine cherub head corner spandrels, a chapter ring with 15 minute divisions on the inside, a finely matted centre around the makers details in script, a half moon date wheel aperture showing the fully functional date wheel and a steel hand which indicates the hour of the day. The polished oak case has a flat top hood with additional shaped pediment and central brass finial and a pair of ¾ turned pilasters as part of the opening door. The trunk has a long door with large brass escutcheon, working lock and key, over a square base with shaped bracket plinth.
