An impressive 18th century oak cased striking 8 day brass arched dial longcase clock by Robert Webster, Madeley (Shropshire, circa 1777).

This very rare brass arch dial clock has a painted Father Time automaton in the arch which rocks backwards and forwards in time with the ticking of the clock. The dial has finely cast corner spandrels around an unusual red and black painted chapter ring, seconds hand, minute and hour hands, date wheel behind half moon aperture and the makers details engraved in the arch. The oak case has a hood with swan neck pediment over brick quoin arch above turned pillars, above quarter turned pilasters either side a long wavy arch door with original working lock and key. The whole stands on a square base with bracket plinth.
