A rare very early 1700's, simple oak cased square brass dial, striking 8 day longcase clock by Jos.Hecksteter, London (Joseph Hecksteter 1694-1704).
The 12" square brass dial has cherub head spandrels around a raised silver chapter ring around a finely matted centre with scroll engraving around a chamfered date aperture revealing a working date wheel together with a pair of blued steel hands. The plain flat top case has a plain frieze over a pair of round integral door pilasters over a plain trunk with flat top door over a square base and shaped bracket plinth.
