A desirable short 18th century oak cased brass square dial striking 8 day longcase clock by Taylor of Douglas.
The 12" square brass dial has scrolled spandrels around a raised brass chapter ring enclosing an engraved centre with date markings to the circumference, two winding holes, makers details, the date hand and a pair of blued steel hands. The plain oak case has a flat top hood over a plain frieze over a pair of integral turned and fluted gilt enhance pilasters to the glazed door with brass knob. The flat top trunk door has a brass escutcheon and working lock and key and the whole stands on a square base on shaped bracket plinth.
