Here we have a fine pair of gilt metal and mother of pearl opera glasses with extending lorgnette/handle. Such opera glasses were used as decorative evening wear accessories during the 18th and 19th centuries, being useful for viewing the action of the play, opera or concert.

This pair are offered in good condition and would make a lovely gift.
