A late 19^th century walnut cased symphonium disc musical box. Playing a 12.25 inch disc on twin opposed combs under a full diameter disc pressure bar all on a full length bed plate under an ebonised framed glass dust cover. The case with aesthetic style marquetry lid of 2 birds sitting in a tree, with lion ring handle opening to reveal a monochrome print to the interior depicting putti. The figured walnut case with 3 quarter turned and fluted corner pilasters flanking the full length front window bar, the sides have gilt metal loop handles and the whole stands on a stepped base with small bun feet.

Complete with 9 12.25 inch discs.

The symphonium is in fully working order and is offered in good condition, with just a small crack to the bottom right hand corner of the glass monochrome print.
