Here we have a beautiful Edwardian rosewood and marquetry envelope card table. The top is in 4 triangular sections which open independently like an envelope, hence the name. Each section is strung with boxwood and inlaid with satinwood floral and scroll design. They open to reveal a green baize-lined playing surface which is in an excellent, clean condition. There are also 4 satinwood "guinea pits" or wells for holding money, chips and counters. There is a small, useful frieze drawer ideal for storing playing and score cards etc. The whole stands on 4 turned legs terminating in original castors, which allows for easy movement. They are united by 4 stretchers and a central circular under-tier/finial.
This piece is offered in excellent original condition.
