Here we have a mahogany Edwardian envelope card table. The top is in four triangular sections which open independently like an envelope, hence the name. Each triangular section is strung with boxwood and cross-banded, they open to reveal a green baize-lined playing surface which is in an excellent, clean condition. There are also four "guinea pits"or wells for holding money, chips and counters. There is a small, useful frieze drawer ideal for storing playing and score cards etc. The whole stands on four slender tapering legs terminating in original castors, which allows for easy movement.
